68 Year Old Grandma Shoots Naked Man Who Tried To Break In Her Home
A Texas grandmother shot and wounded a man who she says tried to enter her home with his pants down – after he allegedly rode up to her property on a bicycle while pleasuring himself.
The 68-year-old woman, identified only as “Granny Jean,” said she shot the masturbating man in the chest on Tuesday as he tried to open the door of her southeast Houston home as her 14-year-old granddaughter was inside, KTRK reports.
“Some guy pulled off his pants and pulled his pants open, playing with his thing, and he ran up and I told him to get away from my door, or I will shoot him,” the woman told the station.
When the suspect didn’t listen, Granny Jean made good on her promise.
“And he kept coming and reached for my door after it was locked, so I shot through the door,” Jean told KTRK. “I don’t bother nobody. I don’t get in nobody’s business. It’s just me and him, and like I keep saying, I warned him.”
The suspect, who was arrested last week for allegedly running naked on a nearby street, was shot in the chest. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition and needed surgery for his wounds, but was expected to survive, police said.
Houston Police Lt. Larry Crowson told the Houston Chronicle that the woman was “alarmed” by the suspect’s behavior and fired one shot through her front door. The woman’s teen granddaughter was unharmed and didn’t witness the altercation, Crowson said.
“It looks like he got on the bike after the shooting, rode down here and collapsed,” he said.
The woman, who was not charged in the incident, was interviewed by police investigators, who will coordinate with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office to determine if any crimes were committed, Crowson said.
Other residents on the block, meanwhile, said they would’ve done the same thing to stop a lewd act in progress.
“Ain’t no telling what else he was going to do or what he’s got,” a woman who asked not to be identified told reporters at the scene. “She was protecting her property.”
