Simon Porter was posted to Tennessee’s Top Ten Most Wanted list on Thursday by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Lawrenceburg Police said physicians at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville reported the crime late Tuesday afternoon. The details surrounding how the young toddler ended up in the hospital were not immediately available.
Investigators said Porter was wanted for aggravated rape of a child Police have not said how they were able to link Porter to the alleged crime.
Lawrenceburg is about 80 miles south-southwest of Nashville.
Porter has been arrested after he was put on the TBI's Most Wanted list earlier this week, WSMV reports.
The incident happened on Nov. 10.
TBI officials tweeted Sunday that Porter was located and captured by law enforcement in Scottsboro, Alabama.
The victim is receiving treatment at a hospital in Nashville.
Porter lives in Lawrenceburg but has connections in Giles County and White House in Tennessee and also in north Alabama.
