Man Charged With Stabbing 2 Year Old Son, Beating His Wife
A raging Brooklyn dad stabbed his 2-year-old son in the head with the sharp edge of a comb, police said Saturday.
The man was inside the family’s home on Clinton Ave near Greene Avenue in Fort Greene at about 7:55 a.m. when an argument broke out, authorities said.
During the dispute, the 26-year-old man grabbed a comb with a metal edge and began beating his wife, then stabbed the child in the temple, cops said.
The tot was rushed to Methodist Hospital in serious but stable condition, where he was undergoing scans for brain trauma, police said.
His mother sustained minor injuries to the arm and leg.
The fuming father was taken into police custody after turning himself in and has not yet been charged, police sources said. He was being taken for a psychiatric evaluation Saturday, authorities said.
The couple’s two other children, both under the age of 2, were in the home when the incident occurred, according to police.
“What would make him stab the baby?” said one neighbor, who declined to be named but told The Post that the couple frequently argued.
“I have family in the building that have heard yelling,” she said.
But other neighbors said the fit of rage — which left blood splattered across the family’s front door — was out of character for the father.
“It’s not like him,” a man who gave his named as Ajani said. “[He] spends most of his time with his son, he’s a family man.”
“We grew up here together,” Ajani added. “I’m really shocked … it’s crazy that this happened.”
