Murders Of LGBTQ Persons In Brazil Has Now Reached 300+

More than 300 people in Brazil have been killed in anti-LGBT hate crimes so far this year.

This number means that the South American country is on track to make 2018 its deadliest-ever year on record for queer people, after there were 387 LGBT+ murder victims in 2017 and a total of 343 the year before.

The survey by Brazil’s oldest LGBT watchdog, Grupo Gay da Bahia, also found that 713 anti-LGBT hate crimes — often in the categories of physical or psychological violence — have been recorded in 2018 up until mid-September.

Man Sentenced To Life In Prison After Killing Gay Man That Slept With His Trans Girlfriend

A man who shot and chopped up the gay roommate of his girlfriend out of jealousy has now been given life sentence.

Ciro Guarente murdered gay activist Vincenzo Ruggiero in Aversa, southern Italy, in July 2017.

After shooting him dead, the killer also tried to conceal Ruggiero’s corpse by chopping it up, dissolving it in acid and hiding it in a nearby garage.

Guarente was jealous of the victim, a friend of his trans girlfriend Heven Grimaldi. Grimaldi and Ruggiero, in fact, were living together at the time of the assassination.

Ex Addict Sues Rehab Facility After Male Counselor Persuaded Him To Have Sex For Drugs

A former patient of a rehab facility in Palm Desert is suing after he claims an employee of the facility coerced him into sex acts in exchange for access to drugs during a time when he was having severe withdrawals.

FOX 11 is concealing the man’s identity because he is an alleged sex victim, for purposes of this story we will call him Robert.

NYPD Searching For Suspect That Brutally Attacked Gay Couple Leaving A Bar

Police are looking for the man responsible for a brutal hate-driven attack in Brooklyn.

It happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday on Metropolitan Avenue as the victims were leaving a gay bar in Williamsburg.

Investigators say the man approached two male victims who were intoxicated, made anti-gay comments and then attacked.

The suspect punched the 34-year-old victim in the face and threw the 29-year-old victim against a tree. Both victims, from Hawthorne, New Jersey, were knocked unconscious.

The suspect then ran off in an unknown direction.

LGBT Activist Dies After Reportedly Being Lynched In Greece

A Greek LGBT activist died on Saturday, an alleged victim of a lynch mob, but officials say only a full medical investigation will determine a broader picture of how he died. 

Zak Kostopoulos, 33, was born in the United States but grew up in Greece. He was well-known in the LGBT community and they remain shocked at the circumstances surrounding his death.

Man Charged In Hate Crime Sexual Assault of Gay Man Killed in Police Shootout

A man armed with an assault rifle was killed in a shootout with police and FBI agents not far from Miami International Airport.

On dramatic cell phone video of the shootout, dozens of shots can be heard. The exchange of gunfire lasted for nearly a minute.

Corrections Officer Charged With Trading Drugs For Sex With Male Inmate

A corrections trainee who reportedly admitted to having sex with a male inmate at the facility was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of sexual misconduct.

Lavonte Coleman, 26, told officials he and the inmate twice had sex in the early morning hours while other inmates were asleep, according to his arrest report. The 29-year-old inmate told officials the sex was payment for Coleman sneaking him a narcotic drug.

Coleman said he never forced the man to have sex. He said the first encounter was in the beginning of September, with the second a week later.

Man Accused Of Robbing and Kidnapping Men He Met On Dating App

Police say a man is accused of luring multiple people to a home through a dating app before holding them against their will and robbing them at gunpoint.

Oklahoma City Police Department reports show that at 10 p.m., Sept. 8, officers were called to a trouble unknown report in the 200 block of Southwest 35th Street.

The victim told police that he was messaging a man on "Grindr," a dating app for gay men, and decided to meet up with the person at a home in the 300 block of Southwest 34th Street.

Two years ago the city of South Fulton, Georgia got to do something unusual: Build a government and a justice system from scratch. 

The brand new city of 100,000 residents — 90% of whom are black — broke off from greater Fulton County. One of the first things they did was build a justice system founded on the progressive, rehabilitative principles reflected in the community, and one that looks like the community, too. In the end — and almost by accident — they started a branch of government entirely run by eight black women. 

Gay Argentinian rugby player left with fractured eye after brutal homophobic attack

A RUGBY player in Argentina suffered an horrendous homophobic attack which left him hospitalised with a fractured eye.

Jonathan Castellari was buying breakfast when we was jumped by seven men and savagely beaten up.

The player is a member of Ciervos Pampas Rugby Club, an organisation that aims to fight discrimination against homophobia.

According to Marca, Castellari was with a friend at the time when the group of men started hurling insults in his direction.
