APA Says Toxic Masculinity Is Real; Linked To Homophobia and Misogyny

The American Psychological Association has recognised a form of toxic masculinity that has links to homophobia and misogyny.

The respected body has issued a first-of-its-kind report, “Guidelines for the Psychological Practice with Boys and Men,” exploring issues relating to masculinity for men and boys.

The report warns of the dangers of a “traditional masculinity ideology,” explaining: “Masculinity ideology is a set of descriptive, prescriptive, and proscriptive of cognitions about boys and men.

Uber Driver Says He Killed Six Strangers In Between Pick Ups

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A man charged with killing six strangers between picking up rides for Uber pleaded guilty to murder on Monday in Michigan.

Jason Dalton’s surprise move occurred as lawyers and a judge planned to pick a jury in Kalamazoo County court. There was no deal for Dalton: He pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder, and he faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison with no chance for parole.

“I’ve wanted to do this for quite a while,” Dalton told a judge.

Governor Bill Haslam grants clemency for Cyntoia Brown

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has granted Cyntoia Brown clemency.

The decision comes just 11 days before Haslam leaves office on Jan. 18. Brown's case has garnered national attention following an outpouring of support from celebrities to Tennessee lawmakers.

Sentenced to life in prison, the Tennessee Supreme Court ruled in December Brown must serve 51 years of her life sentence for the 2004 murder of Johnny Allen. Then 16-years-old, advocates say Brown had been a victim of sex trafficking when the former Nashville realtor purchased her for sex.

Dedrick Williams has been charged with the murder of XXXTentacion, among many other crimes, and now news is being made about his well being.

According to Hip-Hop Overload, an employee at the jail claims Williams was physically and sexually assaulted in a shower. The source also says that friends of Kodak Black are responsible.

Ohio mayor, husband arrested for fighting after Cincinnati Pride

A brawl between the Elmwood Place mayor and the village's maintenance supervisor, who happens to be the mayor's husband, sent them both to jail.

The two administrators, Mayor Bill Wilson and Bill Smith, are married and were both charged with domestic violence and disorderly conduct, according to WLWT. 

The police chief said officers weren't able to determine the primary aggressor so they had to charge both men.

Residents said the arrests are also a black eye for the village.

Trump commutes sentence of Alice Marie Johnson

President Donald Trump has commuted the sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, a first-time nonviolent drug offender, a week after Kim Kardashian West pleaded her case during an Oval Office meeting with Trump.

Johnson has already served 21 years of a life sentence after she was convicted on charges of conspiracy to possess cocaine and attempted possession of cocaine, according to the nonprofit Can-Do, which advocates for clemency for non-violent drug offenders.

She is expected to be released from prison soon.

Breaking News: Virginia State Police Involved In Tank Chase After Soldier Steals It Off Base

Via WTVR: Virginia State Police are in pursuit of a stolen armored personnel vehicle on Interstate 95.

CBS is reporting a soldier from Fort Pickett stole the tank and has driven it from I-85 to I-95.

State Police says at 7:55 p.m., they were notified that the vehicle, which is not equipped with a weapon, was taken from Fort Pickett.

The vehicle was then driven east on Route 460 at a maximum speed of about 40 mph, according to State Police.

The armored vehicle is headed north on I-95, near Richmond, with police in pursuit.

Media Ignores Story Of 2 Black Men Being Lynched By 4 White People In Oklahoma

Via Newsone: Ramon Smith and Jarron Moreland, both 21, are two men who were lynched in 2018. On April 18,  police found the dismembered bodies of the young men in a pond outside of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Three white men and one white woman have been arrested for the crime.

According to, “Police arrested 22-year-old Kevin Garcia-Boettler, 43-year-old Johnny Shane Barker and the 16-year-old brother of Garcia-Boettler, who police say is the suspected shooter. Their mother, Crystal Rachelle Boettler, 40, has also been charged with accessory after the fact.” 

High Court Of Trinidad and Tobago Overturns Law That Outlawed Gay Sex

The High Court today ruled that certain sections of the Sexual Offences Act are unconstitutional and null and void.

High Court Judge Devindra Rampersad ruled that the law goes against the basic rights of any citizen to enjoy the freedom of privacy and family life.

The law has not been struck down but the matter will be further ventillated in July after attorneys for the state and for gay rights activist Jason Jones makes submissions to the court.

The judgement was delivered this morning to a packed courtroom at the Hall of Justice in Port of Spain.
