Timothy Jerome Johnson, 34, has been arrested for making teroristic threats toward a gay man at his previous employer, according to an affidavit from police.
The affidavit outlines multiple occasions where Johnson allegedly harassed and threatened the man and coworker during a training course at the Marriott Reservation Center in Hollywood Park.
The victim told police it started during the training course when Johnson saw a picture of another man on the victim's phone. Johnson allegedly asked the victim if he was gay and when the victim answered yes, Johnson said he would be assaulted if they were in Alabama, where Johnson previously lived.
According to court documents, the victim asked Johnson not to say things like this but Johnson said the victim would find out what this meant.
Later, on June 13, Johnson asked the victim to speak privately, according to the affidavit. During this conversation, the victim told police Johnson said, "B****, if you say anything, I'm going to kill you."
The victim said he believed this to be a threat, because of the previously mentioned conversation and Johnson's alleged usage of homophobic derogatory terms during his time at the job, according to the affidavit.
The victim said Johnson later became confrontational and challenged him to a fight, saying he always carried a pistol on him and even shared a previous time he assaulted someone at a restaurant.
At this time, the victim told staff supervisors, who fired Johnson June 19.
Later the same day, Holywood Park Police were called twice because Johnson was allegedly driving in the parking lot, even though he was told to leave the property and not return.
Although HPPD could not contact Johnson those times, officers did see Johnson circling the parking lot June 20 again, making it three times since being fired he was seen on premises.
The affidavit says a background check on Johnson revealed more information on him, leading to the arrest.
